The Arizona Reading Association is a professional educational organization dedicated to promoting lifelong literacy.


  1. Advocate for a strong balanced reading and language arts program for all learners
  2. Serve the state’s literacy needs
  3. Sponsor professional development and net-working opportunities
  4. Support growth and development of local councils and their efforts to promote literacy
  5. Provide timely materials and information on current reading and language arts research, trends and instructional approaches, as well as legislation affecting the literacy issues in the state
  6. Recognize and honor outstanding educators and others for significant contributions to reading and language arts
